Writing on the organisation's official Live Search blog, Live Search Mobile product manager Jeremy Beasley commented that the application will make life easier for mobile internet users.

He claimed that Microsoft's updated version of Live Search will be applied to day-to-day use, not just looking up businesses, maps and directions.

Mr Beasley explained: "We know that entering text on a mobile can be a pain. That's why we first introduced voice input in previous releases."

This, he claimed, has been carried over to the upgrade but will also include a new predictive query input, which will "help speed up searches".

But, for those who require high-speed access to addresses and maps without a GPS-enabled phone, the new Live Search Mobile application is location detection ready, according to Mr Beasley.

Moreover, those on the move who need to consult a map could do so with ease, he claimed, with a new three dimensional view named Bird's Eye.
