Web promotion should be based on ‘solid data’ by John Burns 07/01/2009 Too many companies go with their gut instincts in web promotion, a consultancy claims.
Businesses have been invited to join the leagues of The Law Society, Greenpeace UK and Sheffield Hallam with their web promotion.

The web analytics firm that manages all three is hosting a free seminar at Sheffield Technology Parks on Arundel Street on January 19th at 17:00 GMT.

Metrea, which has served big name clients after setting up in February 2007, aims to dispel the myth it is best for companies to go with their gut instincts regarding web promotion.

Instead it wants to show companies that web promotion should be based on solid data using Google software that exposes website rankings data.

Metrea managing director Robert Prior said: "It is essential that anyone who has yet to think about how their web presence is used or how it can be improved employ some form of web analytics."

This way, businesses can help retain and acquire customers, as well as boost revenue, lower costs and increase customer satisfaction, he added.

Monitoring processes in detail during the economic downturn could help companies prepare for future success.

To reserve a spot at the seminar please call Metrea on 0114 299 8564 or contact metrea.co.uk.
