Indian firm Quasar has won the Best Internet Marketing Campaign at India Digital Awards 2010, hosted by the Internet and Mobile Association of India.
The judging panel was very impressed with its website marketing campaign, creating the General Motors 'Drive your Beat' campaign which it saw to be the most effective and innovative use of website promotion by a managed internet marketing company.
Quasar was asked to create awareness and interest in the new Chevrolet Beat prior to its launch, distinguishing it as fresh new brand in a car segment that is already extremely popular in the country among other manufacturers.
As a result of this demand, Quasar created a website, Driveyourbeat.com, to allow users to share places, events, people and issues that made their heart beat, while also integrating online video. This allowed the brand to "forge a human connection with the car" through their most enjoyed emotions and aspirations.
Following this approach, the campaign gained no fewer than 12,789,879 page views, 532,911 daily views and 36,000 registrations within the first ten days alone. The campaign was also integrated into social networking, gaining a ringing endorsement through visitors to the site coming from Facebook and Twitter.
Gaurav Gupta, director of marketing and product planning for the Chevrolet Beat, said Quasar helped take the brand a step further by giving it "a human character, a first in the Indian digital world".
Commenting on his company's award, media director at Quasar Pradeep Lamba said: "We are thrilled to win this award. The creative team did a fabulous job by designing a truly interactive and immersive campaign to get the brand message across.
"We wanted to get the maximum out of all the tools available to give the site's users a fresh new experience and this Award is recognition that will drive us to further stretch the creative envelope."
