Vonage to launch 'unique' web ads 10/09/2009 Steve Swallow wrote: Do you think the new ads will help the firm boost sales?
VoIP for business provider Vonage has announced it is to launch exclusive web ads.

The firm states it will be the first in the UK to develop "click to call back" digital promotions, mad.co.uk reports.

Consumers enter their personal numbers into a box on the ad, which initiates an almost immediate call-back, thereby linking its marketing to call centres.

According to the company's managing director in the UK Vincent Potier, this will also serve to provide real-time lead generation.

"It is about integrating digital with other channels of acquisition," he told the news source.

Mr Potier added that the new offerings will help to match the right banner ads to the right audience, as well as improve the "targeting" of the company's online advertising strategy.

This represents the latest in a line of branding initiatives from the firm, including its 2007 introduction of "click to chat" and a calculator banner ad launched last year.

Vonage's second quarter 2009 report from revealed that it is a leading VoIP for business supplier, with 2.5 million lines in service as of the end of June this year.

It predicts that its user base in the US will grow to 28 million by 2011.
