Norwegian firm Opera Software has announced the launch of its newly revamped social networking site My Opera.
The company's community manager Espen Andre Overdahl said: "My Opera is a community where members are actually heard and not just accumulated.
"We listened to what they wanted and we have delivered."
As always, members will have access to news, events, friends and an activity feed but some new additions will feature.
Members of the site will now be greeted by a new homepage which offers one GB of personal storage space.
A key feature of My Opera is visiting and writing blogs so it now has a new spotlight feature which enables users to highlight a blog they enjoyed to encourage others to visit it.
Mr Overdahl said: "My Opera continues to serve as an online creative outlet for sharing opinions, meeting new people and discovering new insight."
Moreover, it has been designed for smoother and faster running on mobile phones with faster loading pictures and videos.
This feature, the company claimed, highlights the way in which social networking and mobile platforms are moving forward together for the likes of online marketing.
Private equity firm Halyard Capital recently said the two mediums could contribute to businesses achieving greater returns on investment.
