Google's Chrome browser attracted healthy figures in its first week of operation, with almost two million visitors.
Search engine Google's new browser attracted nearly two million users during its first week of operation, according to new figures.
The majority of Chrome users were men, with a 73 per cent share of visitors to Google Chrome's new 'Thank You' page being male, figures from Nielsen Online reveal.
Men aged 35 to 49 accounted for the largest share of users, with 757,000 individuals in this bracket visiting the site.
Nearly 1.4 per cent of US internet users had a look at the Chrome site over the week.
Buzz around the new browser was also high, with 0.92 per cent of online consumer discussion revolving around Google Chrome on September 2nd, its first day of availability.
"The browser was mentioned in nearly one per cent of all online discussion the day after its launch - a respectable slightly-more-than-half of what the highly-anticipated iPhone 3G generated when it launched earlier this summer," said Jon Stewart, research director at Nielsen Online.
Google recently entered the top ten of Interbrand's best global brands for the first time.
