Search Features change so Rapidly that all Companies need an Internet Adviser (Consultant)
Technology giant Google has made improvements to its search service, enhancing the languages on offer, as well as adding some new features for internet marketing consultants and others to use.
Writing on the official Google blog, distinguished engineer Ben Gomes noted that, for those typing in Arabic, some changes have been made, as mistakes such as repeating letters in a word or forgetting to separate words with spaces are more common, with various letters considered to be word breaks.
The company has developed an algorithm that introduces rules relating to Arabic spelling and grammar to combat this, using historical data to show when spaces should be left and when it is necessary to remove repeated letters.
In addition, users can mark stories in Google News so as to set up sections of interest.
"Once you've starred a story in Google News, when there are significant updates, we'll alert you by putting the headline in boldface," Mr Gomes observed.
And a Haitian Creole translation tool has now been added to Google Translate to enable searchers to work between this and 51 other languages, as well as hear audio versions of Creole translations.
Earlier this year, the Google team brought in rich snippets for events, allowing webmasters to summarise a page's contents so that visitors can see what's on in one glance.
