Internet Advertising Opportunities Extended Regularly - It's Important to Keep in Touch

Search engine Bing has announced that its relationship with social networking site Facebook has been extended.

This move may be of interest to internet marketing consultants, as the portal is now solely responsible for the selling of display advertising on its pages.

Allowing Facebook this freedom does, general manager of Bing Jon Tinter observed, "make sense".

We have been working together on advertising for a long time, creating the best experience for Facebook users and advertisers," he wrote on the official Bing blog.

In addition, those using Facebook will be able to take advantage of a better search experience, as access will be given to features on the search engine and results will be provided alongside tools to promote "faster, smarter decisions" from customers.

And its relationship is to be extended beyond the US, allowing the 400 million or so Facebook visitors worldwide a chance to take advantage.

Search results on Facebook will also continue to be provided exclusively by Bing, a move that will "enable Microsoft to continue its focus on driving strong performing campaigns across our own social media and communications tools," Mr Tinter said.

Bing itself recently joined the international telethon hosted by MTV and George Clooney, Hope for Haiti Now, as part of its efforts to bring aid to those stricken by the earthquake earlier in the year.
