Adobe launches SEO resource for Flash websites by John Burns 17/03/2009 Adobe has made information available to search engine optimisation professionals regarding Flash web content.
A new online resource has been launched by Adobe to tackle the issue of search engine optimisation (SEO) for Flash websites.

The SEO Technology Center offers advice on how SEO executives can help search engines to crawl their Flash content more effectively following the formation of a partnership between Adobe, Google and Yahoo! last year to make it easier for search engines to index Flash pages.

"Ensuring that search engines can crawl and index your rich internet applications - so that your content can be found by others - is of critical importance to building and maintaining an online presence," Adobe says.

The new resource contains tips on how to get started with Flash SEO, as well as features offering a more in-depth look at the issue.

It adds to similar microsites launched by Adobe to help website owners manage their content more effectively, including the Flash Player Developer Center, the Flash Developer Center, the Flex Developer Center and the SWF Technology Center.

Commenting on the latest launch, Frank Reed of Marketing Pilgrim called the SEO Technology Center an "olive branch" from Adobe to SEO professionals.

Adobe's partnership with Google and Yahoo! will eventually enable websites to get their Flash content indexed without making changes to these pages.
