Website offers tips to help landing page conversion 15/09/2008 Online retailers offered advice on improving PPC conversion.
Online retailers in the UK with low pay per click (PPC) sale conversions may wish to follow practical ecommerce's tips on how to improve sales on landing page hits.

The website has offered five top tips on how to help convert those hits into sales.

Retailers are encouraged to make sure that their website is clear and free of distractions, with the promises made in the advert being carried out on the landing page.

Practical ecommerce also told retailers to avoid cliches like "click here" and "buy now", and concentrate on why their website offers value to the customer, by focusing "on clarity rather than on trying to sell".

The main advice from the website is to ensure that each landing page "meets the expectations of your visitors, and that each page answers the questions of the market segment that you are targeting".

Other ideas from the article include removing unnecessary Flash elements and text, grabbing customer attention by making aims and offers obvious, and limiting a viewer's options by directing them towards a sale.

Forecasters at E-consultancy said that they expect UK spending on search engine optimisation marketing to rise by 24 per cent to £2.75 billion in 2008.
