How to find the best audience for your advert 16/06/2010 New Adwords facility to aid targeting (Emma Furze)

Internet advertising continues to evolve - image of flowing water

Google Innovates to Maintain its Dominant Position in Internet Advertising

Marketers keen to contact web users who have previously showed an interest in their products will now be able to due to the launch of a new service.

Google's remarketing tool is available to anyone who uses AdWords and enables them to connect with users based on their past interactions with a site.

In the site's blog, it suggested that it could be of use to travel firms, for example, who may have visitors in search of a Caribbean holiday, only to find it was not as cheap as they would have liked.

"Then they continue to browse the web. If you later decide to offer discounted deals to the Caribbean, how do you reach these users who have already expressed interest in travelling there?" the blog asked.

It is in this context that the new Google product would work best, as a remarketing campaign can easily be built using the new 'audiences' section of the site.

Marketers are able to determine where to find the best audience for their chosen ad, the blog explained.

Google recently launched AdWords Search Funnels, which aims to give marketers the chance to make more informed decisions about their keywords.
