Yahoo! rolls out new DIY ad tool 24/06/2009 Dipika Patel wrote: Will SMEs welcome Yahoo!'s latest offering?

Yahoo! has unveiled a new tool that lets marketers create and deploy their own display ad campaigns across the Yahoo! network and its partner websites.

The Yahoo! My Display Ads product was developed with small and medium-sized businesses in mind and comes with a web-based interface that lets users choose from more than 800 templates to design their online display ads.

CPM and CPC pricing options are available to take into account the fact that marketers will have different performance and branding targets in mind, while a web analytics function is built into the product to offer daily reports on key metrics relating to the ads.

The service is initially available only in the US and is an extension of a previous product developed by Yahoo! and AdReady for small businesses last year.

Google launched a similar offering, the AdWords display ad builder, in October last year.

"Yahoo! My Display Ads allows small businesses to build on their search marketing with display campaigns that reach a targeted audience on some of the internet's most popular websites," remarked Joanne Bradford, senior vice-president of North America revenue and market development at Yahoo!.
