Online video 'popular with recession marketers'

Online video may be one way for online marketers to generate new attention from consumers, an industry expert has suggested.
As marketers look for innovative ways to attract customer attention despite tight budgets, an industry expert has suggested that online video may provide the answer.
Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at Hostway, asserted that marketing campaigns using online video may be an effective way for advertisers to appeal to consumers in a fresh way while making the most of their resources.
He suggested that savvy web consumers are more interested in video content than pages that only feature widgets and text content, as these sites may be interpreted as being less exciting.
"Video is definitely immersing itself into the market," he said during a presentation at the Technology for Marketing & Advertising event, which took place last week in London.
The two-day series of presentations was held in Earls Court 2 on February 24th and 24th. It featured a wide range of speakers - including six keynote addresses - and a total of 55 sessions ranging from information on e-commerce, web design and online marketing.
