Every year has a Major Theme on the Web - last year it was Video, this year it's Mobile
Mobile phone users have a very strong idea of what they want from their handsets, it has been discovered.
A new survey from Ericsson, conducted in association with Ovum, highlighted that ease of access is one of the items highest up their agendas.
"From a user perspective, the requirements of new services must be straightforward: seamless access to all their content and services from the device of their choice," the report said.
Companies providing the services also need a level of transparency, it discovered.
According to Econsultancy, people are also keen to see tailor-made content, namely applications which will assist them in their day-to-day lives.
Multimedia content is also becoming favourable, the website emphasised, with films, video and other world-class technology proving crucial to users.
Conrad Longmore, editor at Mobile Gazette, recently highlighted that the smartphone market will be revolutionised as people look to replace their handsets with newer devices.
"We can expect to see a fourth generation iPhone sometime during 2010 which should prompt existing customers to upgrade," he revealed.
Mr Longmore advised that even mid-range handsets will take on a whole range of new capabilities in the future.
