Mobile Phone Access to the Web Grows - Creating New Possibilities for Internet Marketing

Mobile phone users are becoming ever more demanding when it comes to their handsets, with Microsoft getting in on the act with its latest offering.

The KIN is a Windows Phone which enables users to navigate their social lives while also embracing all the usual features which would be expected from a mobile phone.

It incorporates social media with a number of other aspects, including online services and an internet-based browser.

People will be able to view photos, videos and other personalised content through any computer, giving them the opportunity to share aspects of their lives with others.

Tariffs for the phone have yet to be revealed, but it will initially be available on the Vodafone network in the UK.

"Mobile social networking is increasingly having strong appeal for our customers. KIN has a unique and intuitive way of engaging with the user, enabling them easily to share experiences and stay in touch with their friends," said Patrick Chomet, group director of terminals at Vodafone.

Microsoft has said that the new mobile phone is based on people rather than technology and will work alongside users' everyday lives.
