The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) has launched a new mobile site aimed at helping marketers get the most out of the medium.
Included on the portal are a number of educational materials that can be used by firms to optimise their advertising campaigns for viewing on mobile devices.
It will also contain live news feeds continuously updated through an RSS feed, the ability to register for industry events and detailed figures of visitor numbers and information relating to their time spent on the site.
The aim is to showcase the potential uses of the internet on portable devices and head of mobile at the IAB Jon Mew said that it is important the body helps businesses to ensure they are "adhering to best practice".
"We've launched this site to show brands how it should be done, whilst educating the market about the wealth of opportunity available within mobile media," he remarked.
Earlier this month, Google announced the launch of its AdSense tool for companies incorporating mobile platforms into their marketing strategy.
It is directed at firms targeting users of smartphones - such as Apple's iPhone and the Palm Pre - and allows organisations to produce campaigns designed specifically for use on such handsets.
