When the founder of Living Streams, Tony Thornby, left university the first charity he supported was the World Wildlife Fund.  The primary reason for this being its practical action to try to safeguard species from extinction.

More recently, involvement with CSSI and Stop the Traffik has brought it home that large groups of people are still being treated as badly as man treats many varieties of animals. 

But Make Poverty History had always seemed something for governments until WSI founded Make Child Poverty History to give it and its  member companies, such as Living Streams, a focus for their action. 

Finally the circle was completed when the World Wildlife fund started its One Planet (originally called 'One World') initiative with its aim of reducing global warming and thus benefit both man and animal species.

With these causes all close to Living Steams' heart, joining the 'Fairtrade for Wycombe'  action group was a no-brainer.  How could anybody not support Fairtrade when it is so closely linked to making poverty history and stopping human traffiking - shock horror the answer was Wycombe District Council and in particular Councillor Lesley Clarke (as described in the Bucks Free Press). But the fight goes on.
