It has been claimed that browser-based cloud computing is a timely solution for consumers and businesses hoping to get more for less money in today's current economic downturn.
Browser-based cloud computing is a timely solution for coping with the current economic climate, it has been claimed.
As the economy continues to spiral downwards, consumers and businesses are pushing to find ways of getting more for less money.
Browser-based cloud computing is believed to do just that.
It has been claimed that it provides people with advanced information and communications without having to spend a fortune on investing on high-end computer infrastructures or installing the relevant desktop software.
Doug Heintzman, director of strategy at IBM Lotus, told BetaNews to consider weather and traffic websites.
Most small businesses are able to access such information without having to pay a super computer to do it for them.
Moreover, anyone can gain access to such sites provided they have a PC equipped with a web browser.
But Mr Heintzman added that for browsers to be able to perform these functions that they were not originally built to do, they must develop a more "business-like sophistication".
Meanwhile, large companies that do rely on outsourcing their business to cloud servers have been urged to track its performance to effectively monitor their business performance results and transactions.
