Exciting new features for Google Analytics. 23/10/2008 With its new segmentation features, Google have moved their free offering far closer to some of the paid analytics systems.

Google Analytics is already feature rich - but yesterday Google announced the roll out of some enterprise-class segmentation capability to complement the existing capability.

(1) Advanced segmentation

(2) Motion charts - an easier way to spot trends

(3) Custom reports - a drag and drop system for creating reports not already available in Analytics standard offerings

(4) Enhanced user interface

(5) Integration with Google Adsense

(6) Application programming interface - so 'watch this space' for third party applications that make use of analytics data

-----------

'5' and '6' are currently in Private Beta (access only by invitation) but '1' to '4' are now in Public Beta (being released starting today, gradually to everyone in the next few weeks).

To read more on this now, Living Streams suggests that you read Google's own article.

Stay tuned for more detailed news from Living Streams on the individual elements of this upgrade to Google Analytics.
