Google enables custom Analytics

Google is now offering its Analytics application on Google Code to enable deeper customisation.
Google has announced that users of its Analytics tool can now customise the application for a specific website.
Writing on the Google Analytics blog, Patricia Boswell noted that a growing number of users want to be able to track their website in more detail with a finer level of control by manipulating the tool.
Now website owners can do just that with the offering of Google Analytics on Google Code, which offers users information how to customise the application for a specific site, she commented.
Those in charge of website promotion can now fine-tune campaign longevity, add a new entry to the list of search engines that are recognised by Analytics and configure tracking to utilise both Analytics and Urchin Software, among other things.
Google Code also offers information on how to implement the beta test version of Event Tracking on a website, as well as providing an e-commerce overview and a reference guide for the e-commerce API.
In related news, Google Analytics last week began including the new Google Chrome browser in its statistics after previously counting the application as part of Firefox usage during development.
