A new report has claimed that Yahoo!'s analytics offerings are better than Google's when it comes to enterprises.
Yahoo!'s Web Analytics service surpasses Google Analytics among business enterprises, new research has revealed.
According to a study conducted by independent analyst firm CMS Watch, the Web Analytics Report 2009, Yahoo! outshines Google in a number of key categories.
The report found that Yahoo! provides better access control options and a simpler handling of multi-site analytics, as well as longer historical availability of data and reports.
It was also found to give its users the ability to export out their raw, unaggregated data when Google does not.
CMS Watch analyst Phil Kemelor commented: "Google Analytics made a name for itself by providing a no-cost, easy-to-use service, but it's no longer the only free analytics game in town."
In fact, CMS Watch founder Tony Byrne added that "savvier enterprise customers" feel "queasy" about signing up to Google Analytics over related concerns regarding data access and migration.
Such reservations, he suggested, are less prevalent among Yahoo! customers, which is why it stands as the more sensible option for business enterprises.
This comes after Google hosted a string of seminars in Atlanta, Georgia, dedicated to improving the widespread use of its analytics packages.
